THE ART OF EXCELLENCE AND THE AUTOMOTIVE WONDERLAND | BRENDAN KEENAN – Wristwatch Check

WRISTWATCH CHECK 2025

THE ART OF EXCELLENCE AND THE AUTOMOTIVE WONDERLAND | BRENDAN KEENAN

CURATED BY ARTNEUN

Some collaborations seem so inevitable that they feel predestined. When Brendan Keenan, the visionary behind ArtNeun, joined forces with Wristwatch Check, it wasn’t a standard business arrangement but an alignment of values and complementary philosophies. ArtNeun and Wristwatch Check believe that car shows are about stunning design, sharing stories, and creating an opportunity for the masterpieces to be fully admired by those who are into it.

Brendan joined Wristwatch Check to solve a significant problem: How do you transform a parking lot with about 15 stunning cars into a photographer’s wonderland? The answer is both simple and complex. It’s all about light. Brendan’s leadership and vision are inspiring, helping us transform a dull presentation of beautiful cars into The Automotive Wonderland—Curated By ArtNeun.

Brendan is not a conventional curator; he is the conductor of a visual symphony, carefully arranging every element to create a seamless and immersive experience. At The Automotive Wonderland – Curated By ArtNeun, he ensures that every vehicle is presented in its best light—literally and metaphorically. “I’ve mapped out where the sun sets, where shadows fall, and how trees in the background can frame a car,” he explains. “Each vehicle must harmonise with its surroundings. Curating cars isn’t about throwing cars together—it’s about creating a tapestry of design.”

For Brendan, automotive curation is an art form in itself. He doesn’t simply arrange cars; he places them within an environment that enhances their presence, telling a deeper story about form, function, and the emotions they evoke. Each vehicle has a unique character, shaped by its designer’s intent, its owner’s experiences, and the era in which it was created. Showcasing cars requires far more than simply finding a space to park them.

THE BEAUTY OF ARTNEUN

ArtNeun is more than just a car show—it’s Brendan’s passion project, a Porsche-exclusive gallery that has become a benchmark in automotive curation. Now in its third instalment, ArtNeun inspires car enthusiasts by displaying Porsches in a setting where you explore space, lighting, and architecture.

Finding the perfect location is crucial to ArtNeun’s success. Brendan meticulously searches for a venue that complements the vehicles and enhances their presence. The surroundings must tell a story, and the architecture and atmosphere must reflect the Porsche legacy.

“The space is as important as the cars,” Brendan explains. “I look for venues that elevate the experience, where the lines of the building interact with the curves of the vehicles.”

Each Porsche is positioned as if it were in a fine art gallery. The way light moves across its body, how reflections capture the environment, and how shadows emphasise its shape—all of these details are deliberately crafted. “A car is a work of art, but only when placed correctly can it be seen in its best form,” he says.

Brendan’s approach ensures that attendees don’t just see a collection of special Porsches; they experience them in a way that heightens appreciation. The third instalment of ArtNeun promises to push this philosophy even further, refining the balance between car and space to an unprecedented level.

TWO SHOWS IN ONE: DAY AND NIGHT

The Automotive Wonderland – Curated by ArtNeun offers attendees a unique experience, where the same cars at the same event feel entirely different as day turns to night. The event starts in daylight, with the natural light revealing every fine detail and lines of the vehicles.

As the sun sets, the lighting changes, warming the cars with golden hues. The vehicles take on a new character, their forms accentuated by the soft light of dusk.

When night falls, the lighting introduces a completely different atmosphere. The cars, now lit from different angles, take on a dramatic presence, highlighting their curves and features in a unique way. This enables people to experience the beauty of these vehicles in different ways at the same show.

A CURATOR’S VISION

Brendan approaches the Wristwatch Check showcase like a painter on a canvas, detailing how light and space enhance the experience of interacting with the cars. The aim is not just to showcase cars but to evoke emotion.

His philosophy is about appreciating fine art, where framing and lighting are essential to perceiving a masterpiece. A Ferrari deserves more than admiration—it needs to be understood. A Porsche isn’t just a sports car—it’s a sculpted testament to precision. Brendan makes walking through The Automotive Wonderland and taking photos an enriching and impactful experience.

Beyond that, Brendan understands the importance of the people who come to admire these cars. “You can see it in the faces of those who attend,” he explains. “A particular model might remind them of a childhood dream, an aspiration, or a story they grew up hearing. I put so much thought into how these cars are presented—because they deserve to be seen in a way that does justice to those emotions.”

A NEW WAY TO SEE CARS

At Wristwatch Check, interaction with cars goes beyond simply walking past them. Brightly coloured picnic tables (no black, white, or natural timber) have been deliberately chosen to inject vibrancy into the space. Seating is part of the curation.

Attendees will have the rare opportunity to sit in a curated space with stunning cars just 10 feet away. The design encourages people to slow down and experience vehicles from a lower vantage point, focusing their eyes on the car’s design lines in a way that walking around simply doesn’t offer. When seated, the car’s form takes centre stage.

Brendan’s decision to incorporate seating into the event isn’t arbitrary—it’s part of the immersive experience. Attendees will naturally find themselves drawn into the details of the cars in a relaxed yet intimate way.

THE EXHIBITION OF EXCELLENCE

Brendan transforms how we experience automotive art with The Automotive Wonderland, curated by ArtNeun. His vision goes far beyond creating a traditional car show; it’s about crafting an immersive encounter where machines meet art, engineering meets storytelling, and passion meets appreciation. Brendan’s collaboration with Wristwatch Check reflects a shared belief in thoughtfulness and excellence, elevating the event to an experience that resonates deeply with automotive enthusiasts.

What excites Brendan the most is the ripple effect his approach can generate. “If this event changes how even a handful of people see car shows, it’s a win,” he says. “That means the appreciation for these machines—and the stories they carry—will continue to evolve.” He believes the industry will follow suit, raising the bar for how we engage with vehicles setting a new standard for celebrating automotive culture.

A tremendous automotive showcase is about the spectacle and the connection it fosters. Whether a lifelong collector is reunited with a model from their youth or a newcomer discovers their first dream car, each attendee should leave with a lasting impression. A carefully curated event doesn’t merely display cars—it brings people together, bridging generations of enthusiasts through a shared love of design and engineering.

The essence of a memorable car show lies in its ability to evoke deep, emotional connections. Brendan’s vision ensures that each vehicle is observed and experienced, offering attendees a rare opportunity to witness automotive artistry in its finest form.

Through strategic placement, lighting, and environmental considerations, he transforms the car show into an interactive space that invites guests to explore each vehicle’s rich history and intricate details. This new approach to automotive showcases will leave a lasting impact on how people view and appreciate these incredible machines.
